About Susan
I've been practicing yoga against different backdrops since 2003. From my first taste of yoga in Neptune Beach, Florida, yoga proved to be a touchstone in subsequent moves to Taiwan, South Korea, and Qatar. The connection I was able to find in various communities of yoga provided the real “family” an expat teacher craves in their travels. I received my 200RYT training through Yama Yoga Studios in Doha, Qatar, under the tutelage of Valerie Jeremijenko, and earned my 500RYT certificate from Dave and Cheryl Oliver, which I completed through their Authentic Teacher Training Program. My first teaching steps took place in Qatar, which provided a rich and diverse population of people to work with. I have taught introductory courses, intermediate classes, and advanced exploration classes and intensives. The yoga clientele I taught was very diverse, ranging from Saudi teenagers to German architects to American filmmakers, all living and working in Qatar. Having moved back to the US in 2013, I have since become deeply involved in the thriving and vibrant yoga community in Jacksonville and beyond. I have a full schedule of classes, workshops, and international retreats to jump aboard. In 2025, I began leading 200YTT certification programs of my own, which is an exciting evolution in my yogic path. My teaching style is a dynamic mix of energy, encouragement, lightheartedness, and creativity. I consider yoga to be a constant lesson in how to…..everything…and finds it to be an essential pleasure and honor to keep on learning.

Private Yoga Instruction
Personal instruction or yoga for a private group can be booked for single or on-going sessions. I will speak with the student to assess their needs and build lessons to help them achieve their intention. Additional guidance will be left with students to continue their practice between sessions to help them maintain the growth of their individual practice.
Corporate Yoga
There are myriad benefits to bringing yoga into the workplace. Offering yoga classes on site offers an economical and innovative solution for companies wanting to reduce health care expenses, relieve stress in the workplace and provide a healthy outlet for employees at work. Happy employees, happy employers!
Types of Yoga Offered
I specialize in finding the most appropriate path for each student to reach their goal. Through observation during class, I offer suggestions to help students more efficiently, safely and comfortably reach an asana (physical posture). The styles of yoga I teach, and draw from are Vinyasa, Restorative, Ashtanga and Power. Learn more about each style of yoga below.
Workshops
Workshops are a great opportunity to play at the edge of your abilities. This is an opportunity to look at a particular slice of yoga, whether it's a physical subsection of practice, such as arm balancing or associated with another limb of yoga, such as meditation or intention. I will break concepts down to digestible chunks so that the students can build back up to these more advanced practices of yoga.
Event Yoga
Have a charitable event you'd like to include yoga in? How about a wedding party that needs a little stretching before the big celebration? A special Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or Father's Day partner session? Yoga can be a part of your special event and customized to your specifications.

Types of Yoga Offered
Vinyasa Flow
Postures are connected together through transitions that work in tandem with breath. Heat is built in the body through a continual flow and deep ujjayi breath to make the muscles more supple. This type of yoga leaves the practitioner feeling cleansed and revived.

Restorative Yoga
A healing form a yoga that encourages the body and mind to let go and give way. This is very conducive for people who have difficulty focusing or want a more restful practice. The use of props such as blocks, blankets, bolsters and straps is common.

Ashtanga Yoga
The oldest known form of yoga, Ashtanga is a disciplined system of asanas designed for the practitioner to gain complete openness in the body, therefore giving further access to the spirit.

Power Yoga
A vigorous practice the flows from one posture to the next, often involving more advanced options throughout.
