200 Hour YTT Program

This 200-hour Aligned Vinyasa teacher training offers a grounded, evidence-based approach to the transformational practices of yoga and the art of self-inquiry. This program invites you to step beyond an asana-centered experience and into a deeper exploration of self—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Whether you intend to teach or to deepen your personal practice, this training supports you in clarifying your voice, refining your understanding, and discovering your unique contribution within the ever-evolving world of yoga.

Rooted in traditional lineages such as Ashtanga and Anusara, the program utilizes these frameworks to inform a skillful and intelligent Vinyasa practice. We are a branch of Yama Yoga International School, and use an adaptation of its time-tested curriculum. You’ll also be exposed to a range of contemporary Vinyasa styles and thoughtful variations through our teaching staff and featured workshops—broadening your perspective and helping you discern the path that feels most aligned for you.

Program Description

Teaching methodology sessions, led by Susan Kniseley-Foy, alternate between Ashtanga and Vinyasa approaches, offering a clear breakdown of alignment, language, and the deeper meaning behind postures.

Anatomy, taught by Sonia Egyhazy, is delivered in two-hour in-person sessions, complemented by reflective home assignments.
The program also weaves in “softer” and essential practices, including myofascial release, yin, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and meditation, guided by Judy Smith.

Yoga philosophy, led by Jyothi Behne, is offered through a blend of in-person lectures and Zoom sessions, making classical teachings accessible, relevant, and alive.

Our recent 200YTT graduates are at the ready to mentor you through the process if you so desire. Together, our teaching team brings over 60 years of combined practice and teaching experience, offering depth, perspective, and mentorship throughout your journey.

Susan Kniseley-Foy

Teaching Methodology/Practice

Susan discovered the transformative power of yoga in 2001. She brought this gift along with her on a journey teaching abroad in Taiwan, Korea, and Qatar. She has always been amazed at yoga’s ability to calm the restless mind and create community, even in foreign lands. Immersing herself in Anusara training initially, she later pursued her 200 and 300-hour teacher training certi cations in Ashtanga/Vinyasa Flow at Yama Yoga Studios in Doha, Qatar, under the expert guidance of Valerie Jeremijienko, Dave and Cheryl Oliver. She also has had the privilege of studying under renowned teachers of diverse yoga styles, including John Scott, Lino Miele, Kathryn Budig, Briget Woods-Kramer, Mary Dana Abbot, Yogeswari, Emil Wendel, Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldman, Dice Iida-Klein, Briohny Smith, Christina Sell, Sean Corne, and Rod Stryker.

Returning to Jacksonville Beach alongside her travel partner-in-crime/husband, Ron in 2013, Susan was happy to be back where yoga started for her. Here, amidst a thriving yoga community, she conducts public and private classes, workshops, and intensives. She quells her considerable wanderlust by organizing international yoga retreats, allowing her to merge her passion for travel with her devotion to yoga. She co-facilitates these retreats with Judy Smith and their company Yin and Yang Retreat Experience, LLC. Her teaching style embodies a fusion of energy, encouragement, lightheartedness, and creativity. Drawing from her rich training background, she incorporates thoughtful assists from Ashtanga, alignment principles from Anusara, and the uidity of breath-connected Vinyasa ow into her classes.

She strives to engage and empower her students, and to help them nd illumination in their practice in whatever way rings true for them. She considers yoga a constant lesson in how to…..everything… and considers it both a pleasure and an honor to continue learning and evolving through the practice.

Sonia Egyhazy

Teaching Anatomy/Physiology

Sonia is a dedicated vinyasa yoga student, practitioner and teacher. She embraces the asana practice to mindfully move through a meditative state while exploring, challenging and honoring her physical edge with each posture and transition. Her classes are centered around intelligently constructed sequences with heightened attention to alignment, muscular engagement and breath, designed to leave her students feeling more empowered and at home in their body.

Sonia started her yoga journey over 15 years ago with Elena Brower in the Anusara tradition in NYC to become more deeply connected to herself during turbulent years as a college student and young professional. She has since studied numerous lineages including Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Prana Flow to broaden her understanding and appreciation for what various systems of yoga can offer. She also studies and teaches Restorative or Yin Yoga to help unwind and decompress both mind and body in this increasingly loud and busy world.

In 2022, Sonia opened her own studio – Bold City Yoga – in the heart of the historic Springfield neighborhood of downtown Jacksonville, Florida where she and a strong, diverse teaching staff offer regular classes every week and hold special workshops, trainings and events throughout the year. Sonia has over 500 hours of RYT-certi ed training from Flow Yoga Center in Washington, DC with one of her primary teachers Sam Breschi.

Judy Smith

Teaching Softer Forms

Judy began her yoga journey 25 years ago. She started practicing yoga because she suffered from a herniated disc and spinal stenosis. After years of physical therapy, pain, medication, back braces, and chiropractic medicine, yoga brought almost instant pain relief, and a new relationship with her body. She was able to heal her injuries and still maintain a strong level of tness with less impact on her body. After 12 years as a student, Judy pursued her 200 hour Kripalu teacher training. She was eager to advance her knowledge soon after and completed her 500 hour Ashtanga training. Judy has continued her training in yin yoga and myofascial release.

Judy’s intention is to lead by example by reminding her students of the importance of breath, drishti, and accepting who you are so you can focus on developing your own physical and mental wellness breath by breath. Judy is a licensed clinical social worker who works primarily with somatic healing as a Mind Body coach. Her practice focuses on connection and collaboration, working together to nd inner stillness and peace. Judy has been practicing mind body wellness for 35 years. The trajectory of Judy’s love for travel has evolved into domestic and overseas yoga retreats with her co teacher Susan Kniseley-Foy through their company, Yin and Yang Retreat Experience, LLC. Their retreats are a true yin-yang experience that leave their attendees lled up with forever friendships and a deep transformational awaking with their personal yoga practice.
