About Susan
Susan has been practicing yoga against different backdrops since 2003.
From her first taste of yoga in Neptune Beach, Florida, yoga proved to be a touchstone in subsequent moves to Taiwan, South Korea, and Qatar. The connection she was able to find in various communities of yoga provided the real “family” an expat teacher craves in their travels. She received her 200RYT training through Yama Yoga Studios in Doha, Qatar under the tutelage of Valerie Jeremijenko and she earned her 500RYT certificate from Dave and Cheryl Oliver, which she completed through their Authentic Teacher Training Program.
Susan’s first teaching steps took place in Qatar, which provided a rich and diverse population of people to work with. She has taught introductory courses, intermediate classes, and advanced exploration classes and intensives. The yoga clientele she taught was very diverse, ranging from Saudi teenagers to German architects, to American filmmakers, all living and working in Qatar. Having moved back to the US in 2013, she has since become deeply involved in the thriving and vibrant yoga community in Jacksonville and beyond. She has a full schedule of classes, workshops, and international retreats to jump aboard. Her teaching style is a dynamic mix of energy, encouragement, lightheartedness, and creativity. She considers yoga to be a constant lesson in how to…..everything…and finds it to be an essential pleasure and honor to keep on learning.
